Mentors

As a mentor, you would be matched with either 1-3 mentees, based on preference, who are undergraduate students that hope to attend the same program as you in the future. Participating in our mentorship program is a perfect way to give back and help those who were in your shoes just a few years ago by providing these students with resources and share advice that you wished you had received regarding the application process and what your daily life as a graduate student looks like. Mentors and mentees will meet at least once a month, however, if you and your mentee(s) agree to meet more often, you are more than willing to do so! Mentor Feedback

Mentors from last year have shared their experience of being a mentor in our mentorship program down below

Katie
(PA student)

I have absolutely loved being a mentor for the HOSA club at UCI! Having the opportunity to help students reach their goals of becoming a PA has giving me such a sense of purpose and has also given me a much needed break from my studies in school. I have enjoyed bonding with my mentees, getting to know them on a personal level, but also be able to answer any questions they may have about the PA profession, how to gain patient care hours, and what they need to be a competitive applicant when the time comes. I truly believe the mentor/mentee relationship is for life. I plan to be here to help them not only get into PA school but to help them succeed once they have been accepted. I am so excited to see where my mentees end up post undergrad and I am confident that they will become amazing providers no matter where their path takes them!
