Workshops
Throughout each quarter, UCI HOSA offers general members a variety of workshops focused on providing both hands-on experience and leadership skills. Past events include suturing and injection workshops, where students were provided materials and guidance to effectively simulate stitching injuries and administering injections. One popular workshop is a mock State Leadership Conference, designed to familiarize with the selection of events our HOSA chapter competes in annually at a state level. Check out our socials to see how you can take advantage of our next event!

1
Orange Injection
The Injection Workshop is a popular activity among general members as it allows them to learn about the different types of injections and how to apply the knowledge in real life. Here is a general member practicing one of the injections!
2
Banana Suturing
Banana Suturing, another popular workshop, allows members to utilize actual surgical needles and suturing thread that health professionals often use in the medical field. Pictured is one of the many types of sutures used on patients during/after surgery!

3
Bandaging
The bandaging workshop allows members to learn how to help as a first responder in an emergency and can be extremely helpful if you are an athlete or interested in sports medicine! We believe this is an important skill everyone should know!

Vitals
The Vitals Workshop educates members on how to use various medical devices to observe vitals important for maintaining health and foreseeing possible abnormalities. The image shows two members testing blood pressure vitals with a monitor.

5
Medical Imaging
During the Medical Imaging Workshop, members learn how to differentiate scans ranging from MRI, CT, and X-Rays that allow medical professionals to gain a better understanding of a patient's condition and accurately predict a developing disease.
